In the latest SESAR JU e-news bulletin, published Oct 2022, the joint validation team involving ENAV and IDS in Rome and SINTEF in Oslo reported the successful completion of simulations using the INNOVE platform for solutions focusing on Digital Network Management Services (PJ.09-W2 DNMS) and Separation Management and Controller Tools (PJ10-W2 PROSA).
The e-news article, entitled “Controllers test dynamic configuration solution to maximize airspace capacity” described how new software prototypes to help improve airspace use and reduce flights delays were validated using collaborative gaming scenarios between geographically separate users and software tools based in Oslo and Rome.
Interactions between the remote teams were supported in real-time were made possible using the INNOVE platform*, an Air Traffic Flow Management real-time simulator for the validation of Network Management solutions at E-OCVM V2 maturity level.
At an open day session, held in Oslo in Sept 2022, around 70 participants from 28 different businesses in the aviation sector attended sessions that demonstrated how new digital solutions, with additional assistance from AI-based tools, can help ATCO and FMP manage their airspace more efficiently.
For more information regarding the studies please see the e-news article.
*INNOVE release 24.2 was used to support the studies, however the ISA team has recently delivered INNOVE release 26.0 to EUROCONTROL, which is aligned with NM 26.0 release
